Light
Waning 1, 2021
For but a tiny moment, I let go of my anxiety. I let myself realise that no one is after me. It is safe here. I may not know exactly where I am, but what I certainly understand is that, after all, it really is about the journey. For it is that exact journey that has led me to this peaceful moment where I can take in all the beautiful elements that comprise it. Within them, I find hope.
Intertwined souls, borne of the night
Occupying bodies made of light
In unison; existence made to be
"Can you see our phantasmal colors?"
Run and hunt and flow; a burning flame
All this land seeking to reclaim
Like a breath of life that cradles all that has been
And will be among the shattered pieces of this world
That one by one;
They fall into place
And in due time, before you know,
It will be whole again
Whole again
Your star beckons brighter than the moon
This time I know I am no fool
As I follow you and your hope-paved trail
"Distant streams await us one day"
Skies unfold and infinitely bend
Awe leaves us unable to pretend
"See how easy it is to be honest?"
Gentle words form wreathes around
The pillars that were prophesized to fall
Yet here they stand ready to hold again
Embers that bloom from the ground
Kindle an ancient link that binds our fate
And here they burn to etch our shape on the horizon
And light our way
Light our way
Light our way
Shed light on the pieces
That, one by one, rearranged
They fall into place
Into place
In due time
It will be whole again
Whole again
One by one
They fall into place
Into place
Before you know
It will be whole again
Whole again
