Glass Wall
Haven Intermediate, 2015
In front of me lies this stalwart fortress, transparent but unyielding. Sometimes, I think I can see not only movement behind it, but flashes of light, colors, reflections of unknown specters. They are the closest thing that I have to a friend. This is where it all began and it all ended. This is the door between worlds. This is the mirror of our memories. It exerts chimes; sometimes they happen to be words from deep within a lost recess of my soul. They get tangled with the words that I can hear beyond this glass wall and produce vivid recreations of the past. I can only sing along to them.
Hold on as we glide through
The Kingdoms of this Second World
A land of fallen angels
And halcyon days of distant years
Where the sunset hides
And shadows of the past array...
Fly away into the unknown
You′ll see the world through eyes up above
And you'll find me when
The ocean is on fire
Remembering
The times when I was king
But now I′ve strolled away
In this world of clay
Am I bound to stay
Smiles glimmer away
And I can see their light
Through a blurry Glass Wall
Broken million times
Still I can't stand to see the fall
Close your eyes and fly
But now I stroll alone
This world is my home
In pure Tranquility
We drift into sleep
And faint smiles greet our dreams
Through this eternal Glass Wall
Broken million times
Still I can't stand to see the fall
Close your eyes and fly
